Global Leadership Study Results Now Completed

Dayton, OH, March 4, 2011 – Chally Group Worldwide conducted the First Edition of the Global Leadership Research project with leading business executives from around the world to elicit their opinions on a range of business issues relating to Leadership Development. This study began with the 5th Edition of The Best Companies for Leaders in cooperation with Chief Executive Magazine, which was published in their November/December issue. Subsequent findings have been examined, formalized and are now published. The purpose of this research is to aid organizations in keeping abreast of the current state and direction for leadership practices on a global basis.

The research methodology was refined by a team of experts in applied research design incorporating feedback from past winners to ensure that emerging trends in Leadership Development such as internationalization are addressed. Although “The Best Companies for Leaders” study segment has been conducted four times previously, this year’s program was greatly enhanced by including:

  • Expanded global participation
  • Multiple research partners soliciting participation
  • A Blue Ribbon team of research analysts from Harvard, University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, Chally Group Worldwide, Personified/CareerBuilder, Right Management, Hauzhong University of Science and Technology, Wright State University, American Management Association, Turning Point (India), Imperial Consulting, Management Centre Europe, and more
  • Investigation into key trends in effective leader development with analysis of differences found in functional roles, organization types, field versus corporate center, and with consideration of the impact of geo-cultural variations

Sections of the full report include: The Leadership Paradox – Where Leaders Come From; Differences in Leadership Roles; Leadership & Succession Planning “Risk Factors”; CEO’s Role in the Depth of the Leadership Pipeline.

The Global Leadership Research project will be expanded each year to collect data from organizations on a continuing basis as the survey is refined to collect additional data on issues previously identified as important. The Global Leadership Research project will be periodically updated as academic and research partners complete more in-depth analyses of the massive database. We invite participation once annually from those leaders and HR executives most involved in leadership development and succession planning.
